Dear Reeve,
You are getting to be such a big boy! You are my second baby and so I find I enjoy you so much more for teaching me how to be a more relaxed mother! Here are a few facts about you…
You are an enigma unravelling before my very eyes.
You are implausibly happy in the face of such raw newness
You very rarely cry.
You are now sitting up on your own… clumsily.
You have just started solids and are exclusively formula fed – no chichitas.
You have the biggest crush on music. It is your pacifier.
(You refused to take a dummy the day you cut your first tooth, 12 weeks old!)
You are always calmer when you are outside in the breeze.
You love crisp textures – particularly paper.
You enjoy the feeling of rubbing your blanket on your face.
You make the same desperate grunt all day that India made, all day, at the same age.
(I think it is your way of discovering your voice.)
You indicate excitement with your WHOLE body!
You are still unpredictable at night
(Last night was one of your good ones)
You prefer to be upright and roll to your tummy if put on your back.
You are a belly sleeper of late and of your own free will.
You have shown an aptitude to put yourself to sleep, but have made no promises!
You are teething again (3rd bottom tooth), but you teethe well
You enjoy the jolly jumper.
You have the utmost colossal thighs I have ever had the pleasure of devouring!
You are forgiving of others and selfless with your optimism.
You fancy raspberries blown in the crease of your neck.
You know your Daddy's voice and track him with your unmitigated 9kg mass.
You LOVE your sister and save the biggest smiles for her!
Your tenderness is delicious.
Your laugh is contagious and holds within it the cure for ALL of mankind’s malice.
You redeem me from myself when I am most in need of redemption.
You nourish my soul.
I love you more each day…
I will love you forever…
