Tears ... Tantrums... Toilet Training!

A few letters i wrote to Indi last month:

(16/03/2011)

Dear India,

Today will be day 3 of toilet training

I can tell that today will not be exempt from “accidents” and defiance on your part… but I promise no tantrums on my part!
This is no easy task! We have been through roughly 10 pairs of knickers each day but you have also had your victories and we take what we can get in these types of situations!
I bought you a little red potty last night while you were tucked in bed, safely sleeping in your nappy. I did so in the hope that it would make the transition for you a little easier, and I’m also out of ideas. We have tried bribes, new knickers, special toilet seats, stern voices, no knickers, and outside play but alas you struggle with even caring that you’re wet! I’m therefore praying that your new potty will be you’re (my) saving grace!

It’s the shape of a turtle and you fell in love with “Murtle” right away, you even had me administer medicine to him today because he had a sore nose?!… I only hope you won’t mind doing your business with him.

As I write this you are sitting on the plastic covered couch watching “Bindi, the jungle Girl”. You always get excited because you think you are Bindi. You scream “Mum, it’s me!” when the show begins... over and over, so I better wrap this up. Recent days have proven that morning bottle plus excitement over Bindi results in special wet surprises for me! And we all know I’m not too excited by that!

I love you for trying, I love you for always

Ma xxx

 and then...

(17/03/2011)

India,
"We" gave up on toilet training today… enough said!

Love Ma xxx

Cinderella and I are yet to try again ... maybe i'll work up the courage in a few months or so?!
